1.1) Travelling from Norway to New Zealand

10.09.2021, 10:00

Hello! To start this blog, we (Mina and Alex) are here to tell you about our journey from Norway to New Zealand! On September 6th, Rick, Alex and I left Norway, seeking adventure on the other side of the world. We had negative Covid tests, of course. Alex and I will fill you in about our journey to get here, but I’ll let Alex start with his account :)

To tell the truth, 26 hours of travelling was not easy. After two hours on the first plane, we arrived in Copenhagen, Denmark. We were there for almost two hours before we could get going again. While we waited, we had breakfast at Espresso House

We flew to Singapore from Denmark, after our first flight transfer. Twelve hours in one sitting was probably the most difficult part of our journey. Luckily for us though, there were TVs, comfy seats, food, and most importantly: Wi-Fi on board.

Our plane seats!

We were well prepared for the long flight, all of us bringing sleeping masks and earplugs to try to get some rest on the plane. While Mina and I were listening to Ricardo’s stories, we both fell asleep in our seats. Hours later we woke up, just as the plane landed in Singapore. We arrived at the Singapore Changi Airport and waited there for a few hours before getting on our nine-hour flight to New Zealand.

While we were at the airport, we explored and had some great food.

I (Alex) had the best Asian chicken ever! I don’t know how, but the taste of it was phenomenal. Not too sweet, not too spicy. It had an amazing taste. Anyway, that’s all I’ll tell you about our journey over here.

I’ll hand it over to Mina now. Bye!

Thanks, Alex – what a great summary of our journey so far! So, there’s not much I can add about the logistics of our journey, Alex covered most of that. But I thought I’d add that after our long flight from Singapore landed in Wellington, we took a cab from the airport to our hotel. And that’s where we are now. We just arrived, and we’re ready to explore Wellington!

Next up, I will write about Wellington – the capital in NZ!

Stay tuned :)
