Taupo is on the way from Wellington to Auckland
After our days in Wellington, we decided to rent a car so we can visit more of NZ!
At Wellington International Airport we found a car rental company with some good deals. The company was Snap Rentals, and we choose a Toyota Corolla Estate - a large enough car for three tourists like us, at a reliable price.
We went to pick up the car near a McDonald's restaurant, so (of course) we also grabbed something to eat while waiting. After about 30 minutes of waiting and eating, we were given the keys to our car, and then we were off!
I will not tell you our exact destination yet – you will learn that soon enough, but I will tell you we were heading to Taupo, a city on North Island. We had to drive three hours, so we took it easy. After driving for two-and-a-half hours on State Highway 1, we were almost out of gas, so we stopped at the Waitomo Petaurus gas station to refill and get some drinks. While I was struggling to figure out how to fill a car with gas, the boys went into a small shop and bought some coffee, snacks, and water.

Next up, I will reveal where we went, so…
Stay tuned :)
