"Elon Musk has said he could ban Apple devices from his companies over the tech giant’s deal to integrate ChatGPT into the iPhone, iPad and Mac.

The Tesla boss said the decision was an “unacceptable security violation” and accused Apple of handing over user data to OpenAI, the firm behind the chatbot.

As part of its generative AI announcements on Monday, Apple said that alongside its new Apple Intelligence system that will allow users to access generative AI-powered tools almost anywhere within their devices, it would give users the option to send a query to ChatGPT to take advantage of its own spectrum of knowledge.

Writing on X, Mr Musk said: “If Apple integrates OpenAI at the OS level, then Apple devices will be banned at my companies. That is an unacceptable security violation." (Lest 11. juni 2024)

Saken i seg selv er jo bare trist, men en av kommentarene fikk meg til å glise godt:

"No charge being brought" er jo en interessant anklage. Den behandles heller ikke i retten. Men ingen som endte opp i Guantanamo fikk sin sak kjørt i retten før etter mange år - og da var bevisene så svake at de innsatte ble frikjent i amerikansk rett. Militæret tok derfor fangene rett tilbake til Guantanamo, hvor de fortsatte å oppholde dem, nå mot amerikansk lov og dom. Er det lov å være sååååå uinformert om sitt eget land? Om det ikke skyldes latskap, hva kan i så fall være grunnen? Ellers har jeg lest at amerikanere bryr seg lite om det som skjer utenfor USA's grenser, men opptøyene mot Israels fremferd i Palestina har iallfall nådd studentmiljøene. Derfor er jeg sterkt i tvil om dette er sant. Dessuten er jo sensur innenfor USA's grenser definitivt innefor USA - og burde interessere.

Jeg foreslår at Christo Gilberti leser Chelsea Mannings bok "Pleasereadme.txt" - hvor deler av boken er nærmest totalt bortsensurert. Jeg har bilder av dette på bloggen min på Tumblr (Jeg kalte den "I fly with dragons", men den endte visst likevel opp med å hete Viljaangelica) og jeg har også lagt inn en link til tilsvarende bilder her. Men egentlig burde jeg jo lese boken hens, for den forteller historien om Julian Assanges sak, og alle andre land er den faktisk usensurert. Det var iallfall det som ble rapportert da sensuren av Chelsea Mannings bok kom ut! Hen ble også intervjuet om den på et talkshow, husker jeg. Et av de få jeg fikk med meg, så det må være veldig kjent. Merkelig nok har jeg funnet en artikkel fra Guardian som hevder at sensureringen av boken var valgt av Chelsea Manning selv, noe jeg absolutt ikke kan huske at kom frem da dette var i nyhetene. Da ville jeg husket det - og min hukommelse er som kjent meget god - og iallfall bedre enn nettets hukommelse, hvor ting slettes og omformuleres og bortforklares over en lav sko...
